Three choreographers, one ensemble, the Wartburg stage, and very little time: "Shortcuts" sees the dawn of a new performance model for the Hessian State Ballet in the 2018/19 season. Quite apart from the usual habitual production processes, three choreographers will take the dancers on a journey in search of new impulses.

The Hessian State Ballet have invited three choreographers who are up to the task of creating new works in record time: Katarzyna Kozielska, dancer and choreographer from the Stuttgart Ballet; Sita Ostheimer, known for her work with MS Schrittmacher, Itzik Galili and the Hofesh Shechter Company; and Xin Xie, former dancer with the Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui Company and one of the young voices of contemporary dance in China.

The works which they are set to create for "Shortcuts" will be as varied, different and unique as the biographies and artistic profiles of the choreographers. Long or short, poetic or explosive, incorporating many dancers or just a few - the sky is the limit. The only limitation is the timeframe: each choreographer will have just over a week!
