Zsolt Hamar
General Music Director & Conductor
Born in Hungary, Zsolt Hamar has been General Music Director of the Wiesbaden State Theatre since 2012. He was the first permanent conductor of the Hungarian National Philharmonic Orchestra, principal conductor of the Pannon Philharmonic in the city of Pécs, and regular guest conductor of the Orchestra di Padova e del Veneto. He regularly conducts at the opera houses in Budapest, Lisbon, Verona, Frankfurt, Zurich and at the Maggio Musicale Festival in Florence. This season, he will conduct “Der fliegende Holländer”, “Katya Kabanova”, “Elektra”, “Boris Godunov”, “Die Soldaten”, five symphony concerts, “The Ring” for kids, as well as “Lohengrin” during the State Theatre’s tour to Daegu, South Korea.
