Evgeny Titov

Evgeny Titov was born in Kazakhstan in 1980 and studied acting at the St. Petersburg Theatre Academy. He worked as an actor in Russia for several years, before pursuing his directing studies at the Max Reinhardt Seminar in Vienna. Here he developed his first works, in collaboration with other students, including Copi's "Das Schlangennest", a production which was invited to the Vienna Burgtheater, and Gogol's "Marriage", which was showcased as part of the 2016 Körber Studio at the Thalia Theater Hamburg. Titov directed the world premiere of Martin Heckmann's "Mein Herz ist rein" at the Dresden Staatsschauspiel, followed by a highly acclaimed production of Arthur Miller's "The Crucible" at the Düsseldorf Schauspielhaus and Gorky's "Sommergästen" at the 2019 Salzburg Festival. He has been a lecturer at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts in Berlin since 2016.

Evgeny Titov made his Wiesbaden debut in 2018/19 with Molière's "Der eingebildete Kranke", followed by Gorky's "Wassa Schlesnowa" in the 2019/20 season. He made his operatic debut with "Lady Macbeth of the Mtsensk District" in 2020/21, followed by another opera at the Komische Oper Berlin in 2021. This season, he returns to Wiesbaden to direct August Strindberg's play "Der Vater".
