“Home, Sweet Home” – a proverb which can mean different things to different people, depending on one’s perspective, of course. For some, home is (mostly) a family stronghold, the place where one truly belongs. But for others, it takes going out into the big world – perhaps even experiencing homesickness – to truly arrive back and value home again. Sometimes, a distinct feeling of foreignness or exclusion is an inherent part of the experience. Is home a place, a feeling, or is it bound to a particular person or group of people? Is there a difference between one’s home and one’s homeland? And last but not least: when does home become a burden?

These are the issues which young director Carolin Wirth, along with actresses from the drama ensemble (under the musical directorship of Nils Strunk) will explore as they immerse themselves in musical history and take up their microphones in song.
