Heike Neumann hails from Berlin. She studied Literature at the Freie Universität Berlin, Psychology at the University of Bremen and is also a qualified dance/movement therapist. While still a student, she worked at various institutes for Cultural Psychology, as well as at the Bremen Theater, both as consultant to its General Director Hans-Günther Heyme and organisational manager of the festival “200 Jahre Theater Bremen – eine Theaterreise”. Following two years as assistant in the Marketing & PR department of the Oldenburg State Theatre, she took up the direction of Marketing, Press & PR at Theater Heilbron in 1996. She has since been active in the same role at Theater Freiburg, the Munich Kammerspiele (under artistic direction of Frank Baumbauer), Hans Otto Theater Potsdam (under Uwe Eric Laufenberg), Leipzig Opera and the Braunschweig State Theatre. Since 2004/2005 she has also taken on various freelance advisory and organisational tasks in the fields of communication, organisation, marketing, sponsoring as well as press and PR for the City of Potsdam (for the new “Schiffbauergasse” cultural area), Cologne Opera, the “Theaterformen” Festival, the “Impuls” Festival and the “Schöller Festspiele”, amongst others. In addition, she assumed teaching activities at a number of institutions, including Potsdam’s University of Applied Sciences (Fachhochschule Potsdam), the International Institute for Cultural Management in Freiburg, the Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich, as well as at the Bavarian Theatre Academy “August Everding”. Heike Neumann has been Marketing Director at the State Theatre of Wiesbaden since 2014.
