Hailing from Courtételle (Switzerland), Alexandre Beuchat completed a Master of Arts at the Lucerne School of Music with Barbara Locher in 2016. Preliminary studies as a violinist, lessons with Wicus Slabbert and Edith Lienbacher as well as master classes with Margreet Honig, John Norris and Ton Koopman complemented his musical training to date. During 2015/16 he as a member of the ensemble at Theater Lucerne, where his roles included Mr Gedge in "Albert Herring" (Britten), Anthony Hope in "Sweeney Todd" (Sondheim) and Antonio in "Il Viaggio a Reims" (Rossini). He joined the ensemble at the Volksoper Wien in 2016, where his roles have included Marcello in "La Bohème" (Puccini), Danilo in "The Merry Widow" (Lehár), and Papageno in "The Magic Flute" (Mozart), among others. In September 2018 he made his stage debut at the Vienna State Opera with the role of Marquis d'Obigny in "La Traviata" (Verdi). He has gained concert experience as a soloist in numerous sacred projects (including works by Bach, Handel, Schütz, Orff, Monteverdi et Haydn,) as well as in various recitals (including cycles by Mahler, Schumann, Schubert and Vaughan Williams).
