Thorleifur Örn Arnarsson
His 2011 Lucerne production of "Peer Gynt" won the prestigious "nachtkritik.de-Theatertreffen" prize, a production which he also specially adapted for the State Theatre of Wiesbaden in 2014. During the 2013/2014 season he directed "Romeo and Juliet" at the State Theatre of Mainz and "Die Nibelungen" at Theater Bonn. His debut in music theatre was made in 2012 at the Augsburg Theatre with "Die Fledermaus" by Johann Strauss, where he also directed Puccini's "La Bohème" (a production which was staged in Wiesbaden in 2014) and Wagner's "Lohengrin" in May 2014. Arnarsson also regularly directs at the National Theatre of Reykjavik, and in autumn 2015 he will direct an opera and drama for the opening of the Trier Theatre. Thorleifur Örn Arnasson has been Resident Director for Opera and Drama at the Hessian State Theatre of Wiesbaden since the beginning of the 2014/2015 season.
