Stephanos Tsirakoglou

Greek-American bass-baritone Stephanos Tsirakoglou began his career in the USA specialising in the Italian buffo and bel canto repertoire.  Roles to his credit include Giorgio Walton, Doctor Dulcamara, Falstaff, Schicchi, Leporello, Mozart's Figaro, Don Magnifico, Don Pasquale, and both Rossini's and Mozart's Bartolo.  More recently he has expanded his repertoire to include many German roles both in operette (Ollendorf in "Der Bettelstudent" and Frank in "Die Fledermaus") and opera (Biterolf in "Tannhaüser" and Beckmesser in "Die Meistersinger"). He was a full-time ensemble member at the South Thuringian State Theater in Meiningen from 2012 - 2015, with guest engagements both in Germany (Chemnitz, Regensburg, etc.) and internationally, including New Orleans, USA, and the Menuhin Festival in Gstadt, Switzerland. This season, he appears in Wiesbaden as Frank ("Die Fledermaus"), Speaker of the Temple / Armoured Man ("Die Zauberflöte") and Marchese d‘Obigny ("La Traviata").
