Portraitkonzert Dieter Schnebel

A Portrait

Born in 1930, Dieter Schnebel is without question the most versatile composer of his generation. In all its varied forms, his art always looks back on tradition, innovatively revives it and remains independent of any passing fads that may have come and gone in the last 50 years. Ulrich Dibelius described Schnebel's position in compositional history as follows: "...it is his clear view of the existing - wherein everyone else tries to find their role - which has defined his own direction". In this portrait concert, students of Frankfurt's Academy of Music and Performing Arts, under direction of Lucas Fels, renowned cellist of the Arditti Quartet, will perform chamber music by Dieter Schnebel, representing his oeuvre to this day.
