Nicola Beller Carbone

Soprano Nicola Beller Carbone was born in Germany and grew up in Spain. After initially studying drama, she received her singing training in Madrid. She was a member of the opera studio at the Bayerische Staatsoper, after which permanent engagements followed at the Gärtnerplatztheater in Munich and in Mannheim, mostly in lyric roles. She has since worked in a freelance capacity, guesting at opera houses in Paris, Zurich, Geneva, Berlin, Frankfurt, Cologne, Stockholm, Brussels, Montreal, Palermo, Turin, Nice and Peking, amongst others. Her wide-ranging repertoire increasingly comprises dramatic roles in the Classical and 20th Century genres. She has sung Salome, one of her most famed roles, in Turin, Geneva, Monte Carlo, Brussels, Zurich, Montreal and Stockholm. Other roles include Tosca, Marie/Marietta ("Die tote Stadt"), Carlotta ("Die Gezeichneten"), Sieglinde ("Die Walküre"), Infantin ("Der Zwerg"), Katerina Ismailowa ("Lady Macbeth of the Mtsensk District"), La femme ("La voix humaine"), Marie ("Wozzeck") and Countess de la Roche ("Die Soldaten"). After enjoying great success as the Dyer's Wife in "Die Frau ohne Schatten", she returned to Wiesbaden in the 2018/19 season as Anna in "Die sieben Todsünden". This season, she will take the stage as Marschallin in the new production of "Der Rosenkavalier".
