Aleksandra Olczyk

Polish soprano Aleksandra Olczyk studied singing with Magdalena Krzyńska at the Feliks-Nowowiejski-Music-Academy in Bydgoszcz and attended master classes with Helena Łazarska, Stefania Toczyska, Izabella Kłosińska, Olga Pasiecznik, Piotr Bednarski, Brenda Hurley, Matthias Rexroth, Matthias Rexroth, Paola Larini and Peter McClintock. She won first prize at the Jan Kiepura International Singing Competition in Krynica-Zdrój, as well as at the 3rd Festival of Italian Opera Music "Belcanto per semper" in Włocław.

On stage she has performed roles such as Gilda ("Rigoletto") at the Warsaw National Opera, Donna Fiorilla ("Il turco in Italia") and Blonde ("Die Entführung aus dem Serail") at the Warsaw Chamber Opera, as well as Queen of the Night ("Die Zauberflöte"), amongst others, at the Deutsche Oper Berlin, the National Opera Warsaw, the Finnish National Opera, the Opéra de Lille, the Opera Nova in Bydgoszcz and the Joburg Theatre Johannesburg in South Africa. She has worked with conductors such as Ulrich Wagner, Piotr Staniszewski and Ivo Hentschel as well as with directors such as Ulrich Peters, Barrie Kosky and Christopher Alden.

This season, she appears in Wiesbaden as Sophie in "Der Rosenkavalier" and Queen of the Night in "Die Zauberflöte".
