Thomas Enzinger

Thomas Enzinger works as director of operetta, opera, musicals and drama in all German-speaking countries and has brought more than 50 productions to the stages of venues like the Volksoper Vienna, the Gärtnerplatztheater in Munich, the Opera Dortmund and the Landestheater Salzburg. Notable operetta productions include "Wiener Blut" at the Vienna Volksoper, Cole Porter's "Kiss me, Kate" at the Nuremberg State Theatre, Emmerich Kálmán's "Countess Mariza" at the Vienna Volksoper and an adaptation of Kálmán's "Die Csárdásfürstin". Enzinger has also enjoyed great acclaim for his new production of Paul Abraham's "Roxy und ihr Wunderteam". In opera he directed Rossini's "L´Italiana in Algeri" at the Gärtnerplatztheater and Handel's "Rinaldo" at Kiel Opera. In his early years in the industry, Thomas Enzinger worked as an actor, amongst others at the Theater in der Josefstadt in Vienna, at the Linzer Landestheater, at the Wiener Festwochen, at the cabaret Simpl in Vienna as well as in various TV productions. He is co-founder of the Schönebecker Operettensommer and has steered its artistic direction of the past 18 years. In addition, he has been artistic director of the Lehár-Festival Bad Ischl since 2016. He was awarded the 2019 "Frosch des Jahres" by BR Klassik for his production "Die Blume von Hawaii". Thomas Enzinger also writes plays and cabaret programmes, works as editor and produces various TV shows.

Thomas Enzinger makes his Wiesbaden debut this season with his new production "Gräfin Mariza".
