Shira Patchornik

Shira Patchornik hails from Israel. She began her vocal training in Tel Aviv and is currently completing her studies at the Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy College of Music and Theatre in Leipzig. She is a prize laureate of the Slovakia Cantat and the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music competitions. She made her role debut as Zerlina ("Don Giovanni"), Pamina ("Die Zauberflöte"), Gretel ("Hänsel und Gretel") and Flora ("The Turn of the Screw") at the New Israeli Opera. Other roles include Maria Magdalena in Handel's "Le resurrezione", Orasia in Telemann's "Orpheus", the title role in Josef Tal's "Else" and Mädchen in Ella Milch-Sheriff's "Conversations with a Stone". Additionally, she has performed at the Abu-Gosh Festival in Jerusalem and at the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival. During the 2017/18 season, she sang Euridice in "Au revoir, Euridice" at Oper Leipzig and made her Wiesbaden debut as Poussette in "Manon". This season, she will sing Servilia in "La clemenza di Tito", Karolka in "Jenufa", Zerlina in "Don Giovanni", Oscar in "Un ballo in maschera" and Morgana in "Alcina".
