Marta Wryk

Mezzo-soprano
Born in Poland, Marta Wryk studied in Warsaw and at the Manhattan School of Music in New York, where she also won the Marcella Sembrich Voice Competition. Following her American debut as Aglaonice in Philip Glass’ “Orphée”, she became a member of the Cologne Opera studio from 2012 to 2014, where she sang roles such as Cherubino (“Le nozze di Figaro”), Laura (“Iolanta”), Gianetta (“L'elisir d'amore”) and Mercédès (“Carmen”). During the 2015/2016 season, she performed the role of Ascanio in Berlioz’s “Benvenuto Cellini” at the Theater Bonn. Previous roles in Wiesbaden include Suzuki in "Madama Butterfly", Maidservant in "Elektra", Wellgunde and Siegrune in the Ring Cycle, as well as Cherubino in "Le nozze di Figaro". She returns to Wiesbaden this season as Wellgunde.
