Désirée Nick

Désirée Nick trained as a classical ballet dancer at the Berlin Academy of Dance, followed by acting training at the Actor's Institute in London. At the age of 16, she became a member of the dance ensemble at the Deutsche Oper Berlin.

She made a name for herself over the past 35 years both in classical, serious roles and in comedy, appearing on renowned stages such as the Maxim Gorki Theater Berlin, the Volksbühne am Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz, the Renaissance-Theater Berlin, the Hans Otto-Theater Potsdam, the Ernst Deutsch-Theater Hamburg, the Kammerspiele Hamburg, the Komödie am Bayrischen Hof Munich, and the Theater in der Josefstadt Vienna.

Important productions include the premiere of Oliver Bukowski's monologue "Nichts Schöneres" (2002) at the Renaissance Theater Berlin, Thomas Bernhard's classic "Am Ziel" (2006) at the Hans-Otto-Theater Potsdam, the celebrated "Mörderin des hohen Cs" (a tribute to Florence Foster Jenkins), as well as "Souvenir", directed by Torsten Fischer at the Renaissance Theater Berlin. Other notable roles include innkeeper Josefa Vogelhuber in "Im Weißen Rössl" (2014), circus director in Emmerich Kálmán's operetta "The Circus Princess" at the Komische Oper Berlin (directed by Barrie Kosky), and Joan Crawford in the 2017 production "Bette und Joan" at the Ernst Deutsch Theater, Hamburg.

In films, she has appeared in works by Rosa von Praunheim ("Neurosia" 1995), Max Färberböck ("Aimée und Jaguar" 1999), J. Kuhn ("Fisimatenten" 2000) and Oskar Röhler. She is also a popular cast member in television productions and features on ZDF and ARD. In 2004, she was the first woman to win the Jungle Queen's Crown in the RTL hit show "Ich bin ein Star - Holt mich hier raus" ("I'm a star - get me out of here") and has appeared in TV shows like "Promi-Dinner", "Promi Shopping Queen", "Promi Big Brother", "Das große Backen", "The Taste", "Teufels Küche", "Yes I Can Dance" and others. She has been a four-time guest on the TV show "Wetten dass...", appeared on "Fest der Besten" alongside Florian Silbereisen and, most recently, in "Dancing on Ice". In addition, she is known as an author, with bestsellers such as "Eva go home!", "Gibt es ein Leben nach 40" and "Gibt es ein Leben nach 50". Her latest work "NEIN ist das neue JA" (Eden Books) was published in autumn 2018.

As a successful touring performer, she has gained great acclaim in German-speaking countries with shows such as "Hollywud, ick komme" (1994), "Was bleibt ist die Schande" (1996), "Hängetitten Deluxe - ein Abend für die ganze Familie" (2000), "The Joy of Aging - and how to avoid it" (2004), "Retro-Muschi" (2014) and many more.

This season, she graces the Wiesbaden stage with her current show "Die letzte lebende Diseuse - MUTTER CORSAGE" and as Princess Božena Guddenstein to Clumetz in the operetta "Countess Mariza".
