Konrad Junghänel

For many years a lutenist, Konrad Junghänel is one of the leading conductors of early music (Baroque to Mozart) today, with many of his over 35 CD recordings crowned with major awards. He has worked with René Jacobs and ensembles such as Les Arts Florissants and Musica Antiqua Cologne. He has been a professor at the Cologne College of Music since 1994 and is much in demand as opera conductor both at home and abroad, among others in Berlin, Düsseldorf, Cologne, Graz and at the Vienna Festival. After conducting “Le nozze di Figaro”, “Die Entführung aus dem Serail” and “Orfeo ed Euridice” last season, he returns to the podium to conduct “Così fan tutte” and “Alcina”.
