What started as bar and street music soon evolved into something more respectable, especially when Astor Piazzolla elevated the Argentinian Tango to an art form. But art and tango needed some time to find each other: for some, Piazzolla's music was not "danceable" enough", while serious musicians were not all too fond of the tango's rough and ready origins. Luckily, thirty years after Piazzolla's death, these contradictions seem to have been resolved and what remains is the immensely lively and inspiring music of one of the greatest composers of the 20th century.
