Power-hungry film director Carl Denham urgently needs a new hit, and unemployed actress Ann Darrow is desperately looking for a job. Together, they embark on a journey into adventure with ship captain Jack Driscoll and his decrepit boat. They set off on the arduous journey from New York to Skull Island in search of the fabled giant gorilla named Kong. Denham wants to make a film based on the ancient "Beauty and the Beast" theme.

Kong was the first fictional monster in film history and the 1933 movie "King Kong" by Merian C. Cooper saw the birth of on-screen special effects, a milestone in film history.

Based on the adventure novel by Delos W. Lovelace, "King Kong" the musical features only three actors in a fast-paced show full of emotion, wit and catchy music.
