In the second ballet of the season, the Hessian State Ballet devotes itself to two young choreographers at the brink of international careers. After exploring the very limits of dance in their 2015/16 season production "Grenzgänger", Alejandro Cerrudo and Jeroen Verbruggen are looking for a new challenge, a new beginning. Or, perhaps, something that has always been in the process of being developed?

Born and raised in Madrid, Spain, Alejandro Cerrudo worked as a dancer in Europe and the USA, before becoming in-house choreographer at Hubbard Street Dance in Chicago in 2009. His work has been performed in the USA, Denmark, Germany and the Netherlands.

At the end of his dance career, Belgian Jeroen Verbruggen started concentrating exclusively on choreography. His work includes, amongst others, "The Nutcracker" in Geneva (2014) and "L'enfant et les Sortilèges" (2016) in Monaco.
