Mezzo-soprano Silvia Hauer is known for embodying wide-ranging roles on the State Theatre's stage. Having won the 2011 German National Singing Competition, she gained her first professional experience as a studio member at the Munich State Opera. She moved to Wiesbaden in 2015 and has since sung roles such as Dorabella ("Cosi fan tutte"), Bradamante ("Alcina"), Orlofsky ("Die Fledermaus"), Second Lady ("Die Zauberflöte") and Hänsel ("Hänsel und Gretel"). She is currently rehearsing Olga for the new production of "Eugene Onegin", which opens at the State Theatre in March.

Silvia's song recital focuses on themes of love, with works by Debussy, de Falla, Mahler and Britten on the programme. She is accompanied by Finnish pianist Pauliina Tukiainen, a devotee to all facets of the art song. Apart from her concert activities, she gives regular master classes and also teaches at the Music Conservatoires in Frankfurt and Freiburg. Pauliina Tukiainen also acts as artistic consultant to the Schumann Festival in Bonn and has recorded three art song CDs.
