A body, alone on the dancefloor, completely lost in the music. Lisbeth Gruwez dances Bob Dylan goes to the limits – between two people, between dance and music, and between language and those moments that are unspeakable. The piece’s set is very simple: Maarten Van Cauwenberghe, co-director of Voetvolk, stands at two turntables and Lisbeth Gruwez dances. The connection in this intimate meeting without words is made by Bob Dylan’s songs, which serve as the soundtrack of the evening. Unexpected dynamics develop between the songs, Van Cauwenberghe and Gruwez. Sometimes they are gentle and fragile, sometimes with an abundance of power, Gruwez translates the special quality of Dylan’s songs into intense movements. A plea for the liberating power of physical extasy, which enthralls everyone, unfolds – regardless of whether you are a Bob Dylan fan or not.
