Lescaut was to accompany his fragile young cousin Manon to the monastery. But fate interferes: the young Chevalier des Grieux falls in love with the beautiful girl. The two flee to Paris, but the idyll is not to last. Manon quickly learns how to use her charms on men - a life of luxury, wealth and adventure beckons, while money, love, church and casino are in direct competition with each other. Manon is in danger. Jules Massenet's "Manon" is a refined melange of romance and modern psychology, alive with gorgeous melodies and elaborate orchestration.
