Florian Kontschak initially studied Music Education at the Karlsruhe Conservatory, after which he completed his singing studies at the Karlsruhe Music Theatre Institute as a scholarship holder of the Richard Wagner Association and the Heinrich Hertz Foundation. After initial engagements in the Karlsruhe Opera Studio, he soon started working as a freelancer, in roles such as Masetto ("Don Giovanni"), Theseus ("A Midsummer Night's Dream") and Pistola ("Falstaff"). He was part of the world premiere production of Kian Geiselbrechtinger's Prologue to Henry Purcell's "Dido and Aeneas" in Heidelberg and was also a guest performer in the contemporary opera "Kopernikus" by C. Viviers with the Freiburg Young Opera Company. Florian Kontschak has been an ensemble member at Theater Nordhausen since 2013, with roles such as Bartolo ("Le nozze di Figaro"), Sparafucile ("Rigoletto"), Mephisto ("Faust"), Kezal ("Die verkaufte Braut") and Doolittle ("My fair Lady"). He made his Wiesbaden debut as Pistola in the revival of "Falstaff". This season, he sings Comte des Grieux in "Manon" and Tom in "Un ballo in maschera".
