"I had a dream, past the wit of man to say what dream it was..." - A Midsummer Night's Dream, IV, 1.

Hot on the heels of his his successful "Aschenputtel" (Cinderella) during the Hessian State Ballet's founding year, Ballet Director Tim Plegge turns to yet another classic. Set to Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy's beautiful music, "Midsummer Night's Dream" is a captivating and enchanting journey into the complexities of love; a plunge into the depths of dreams. Love, just like misfortune, simply overwhelms those in its path. Escape is futile! Hermia loves Lysander, but Demetrius is in love with Hermia. Hermia's father has declared that she must marry Demetrius, but she won't have it and absconds with Lysander. Demetrius pursues the fleeing lovers, followed by Helena. On a night of particular ecstasy, they lose themselves in the moment and find each other. Their lives derail and nothing is as it was before. What was once unimaginable suddenly seems possible.
