Featuring actress Sylvie Rohrer and theatre legend Herman Beil, the Merlin Ensemble's concert trilogy remains one of the hot insider tips of the Maifestspiele every year. This time, they shine the spotlight on Mozart and on Austrian novelist, playwright and poet Thomas Bernhard.

The great Mozart biographer Alfred Einstein wrote about Mozart's Divertimenti: "These works belong to the purest, most cheerful and most enchanting that has ever taken musical form. There are people who would trade a whole act of Tannhäuser or Lohengrin for one of these works, a lost paradise of music!"

"Music saves me again and again. What would this world be without Mozart?”, asks Thomas Bernhard - a sentiment which still holds true thirty years after his death. What would everything be without "the purest, most bittersweet music?"
(Hermann Beil)
