Alexander Knight

Alexander Knight was born in Australia and studied in Sydney. He has performed with numerous leading ensembles in Australia, including the Sydney Symphony Orchestra. Guest engagements have taken him to the Sydney Chamber Opera, the Edinburgh Festival, Adelaide and New Zealand. Alexander Knight is the 2016/2017 season winner of the German-Australian Opera Grant, allowing him to spend a year as part of the ensemble at the Hessian State Theatre of Wiesbaden, where his roles included Dr. Falke ("Fledermaus"), Papageno ("Die Zauberflöte"), Ned Keene ("Peter Grimes"), Sciarrone ("Tosca") and Schaunard ("Bohème"), as well as roles in "La Traviata" and "Die Frau ohne Schatten". During the 2017/18 season, new roles include Montano ("Otello"), Lamoral ("Arabella"), Guglielmo ("Così fan tutte") and Reinmar von Zweter ("Tannhäuser"), and he will also reprise his role as Schaunard in "La Bohème".
