Florian Küppers was born in Paris. He received his training from Wolfgang Vater and also studied at the Schola Cantorum in Basel and the Mainz University of Music. He made his debut in 2011 as Speaker of the Temple/First Priest in "Die Zauberflöte" at the Thüringer Landestheater Rudolstadt. He was a member of the Youth Ensemble and regular guest at the Mainz State Theatre from 2012-2015, where he most recently sang Mago in Händel's "Rinaldo", Marquis d'Obigny in "La Traviata" and Cesare Angelotti in "Tosca". His interest in Early Music has led to engagements with conductors such as Ton Koopman, Reinhard Goebel, Wolfgang Katschner, Andreas Scholl, Andrea Marcon, Alessandro De Marchi, Alfredo Bernadini and Martin Gester. This season, he makes his Wiesbaden debut as Omid in Søren Nils Eichberg's new opera "Schönerland".
