Sounds of natural beauty, playful brilliance and dance-like verve unfold in this concert featuring music from the Baroque and pre-Classical era. Woodwinds, horns and harpsichord combine with string orchestra to form a transparent sound body. With Bach's 3rd Brandenburg Concerto as the central piece, the programme is further complimented by other musical predecessors and successors in the genres of concerts, symphonies and suites in Germany, Italy and France. Works by Vivaldi, Haydn, the French court composer Rameau and Bach's youngest son Johann Christian can be heard.

For this special concert, we are excited to welcome Bernhard Forck to the podium. A specialist in the field of early music and historical performance practice, Bernhard Forck will conduct this Fifth Symphony Concert from the violin. He has been the Musical Director of the Händelfestspielorchester in Halle since 2007 and is one of the concert masters of the Academy of Early Music in Berlin, founded in 1982. Apart from concerts, he has also conducted operas at the Potsdam Sanssouci Festival, at the Staatsoper Berlin and Nationaltheater Mannheim, amongst others. He is also a member of the Berlin Baroque Soloists.
