Choreography by Ohad Naharin
Following the resounding success of "Sadeh 21" in the 2018/19 season, Ohad Naharin returns to the Hessian State Ballet with a new offering: "Kamuyot" is an ode to exuberance, with exciting music and intense emotions. Naharin developed the work in 2003 for Batsheva - The Young Ensemble, a part of his legendary dance company, which has been focusing on youth dance education in Israel since 1990. The word "Kamuyot" describes a square-shaped interactive stage space, enclosed by the audience on all of its four sides. The traditional barrier between stage and auditorium falls away, thus creating a common shared experience between dancers and audience. Specially conceived for non-theatre spaces, the piece can be performed in gymnasiums, schools and other public venues. With its energy and emotional depth, "Kamuyot" bears witness to the great transformational power of art. The production is suitable for adults and children alike.
