By Ulf Erdmann Ziegler
A new piece commissioned by Hessisches Staatstheater Wiesbaden
Performed in German
In the past, political activists held clandestine meetings in forest cabins; today, they sign petitions on change.org. In his first play, novelist Ulf Erdmann Ziegler explores how the digital revolution has affected activism. Powerfully eloquent and allusive, with tons of rhythmic furore and wit, he brings his protagonists together at the "digital fire" of their computer screens and smartphone displays: "A cold light which warms the heart".
