In line with Corona regulations issued by the German Federal Government, the Hessian State Theatre of Wiesbaden has suspended all performances until at least 18 May 2021.
The new performance programme will be announced as soon as possible.

No light into the darkness: art installation cancelled for the time being.
Due to current pandemic activity, the City of Wiesbaden has ordered the discontinuation of the outdoor art installation "Licht ins Dunkle - Wir kommen wieder!". The Wiesbaden State Theatre now awaits the implementation of new ordinances which will determine whether or not the installation may continue again as from 7 March 2021.

Regular opening times resume on 27 December.

On 29 May, Wagner's "Ring an 1 Abend" brought the 2016 International May Festival to a brilliant close in the sold-out Großes Haus. No less than 22 000 visitors attended the 48 performances of this year's tradition-rich festival.
Patrick Lange will take office at the start of the 2017/2018 season. As former principle conductor of the Komische Oper Berlin and winner of the European Culture Award, Lange enjoys a considerable international career, with appearances at the Bavarian State Opera, London's Covent Garden and the Sydney Opera House.
