Aaron Cawley

Born in Ireland, Aaron Cawley studied in Dublin and sang the roles of Lysander (Britten’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”), Turiddu (“Cavalleria rusticana”) and Malcolm (“Macbeth”) for NI Opera in Belfast. He has been a member of the Wiesbaden Ensemble since 20114/15, where he has sung roles such as Candide, Flavio ("Norma)", Cassio (“Otello”), Tichon (“Katya Kabanova”), Pinkerton (“Madama Butterfly”), Rodolfo ("La Bohème"), Cavaradossi ("Tosca"), Alfred ("Die Fledermaus"), Gastone ("La Traviata"), Froh ("Das Rheingold"), the Youth ("Die Frau ohne Schatten"), Pastor Adams ("Peter Grimes"), and First Armoured Man ("Die Zauberflöte"), as well as Lenski in the exchange production of "Eugene Onegin" at Staatstheater Darmstadt. During the 2017/18 season, his roles included Walther von der Vogelweide in "Tannhäuser", Count Elemer in "Arabella", Erik in "Der fliegende Holländer" and Dariush in the world premiere "Schönerland". This season, he will make his debut as Riccardo in "Un ballo in maschera", as well as Števa Buryja in the new production of "Jenufa". In addition, he will reprise his roles as Lenski, Walther von der Vogelweide and Pinkerton.
