Born in Spain, Antonio Garés made his debut in 2015 in the zarzuela "El Duo de la Africana" at the Gran Teatro de Córdoba. In 2017, he won the Carlo Guasco International Singing Competition in Alexandria and took part in the Verdi Festival in Parma in the same year, where he sang Gastone in "La Traviata". His repertoire includes roles such as Count Almavia ("Il barbiere di Siviglia"), Don Ramiro ("Le Cenerentola"), the Marchese in Spontini's "Le Metamorfosi di Pasquale" (Teatro Pergolesi in Jesi), as well as Don Ottavio in "Don Giovanni" (Pretoria, South Africa). Since 2018, he has appeared at the Maggio Musicale in Florence in roles such as Gastone, Le Remendado ("Carmen"), Gherardo ("Gianni Schicchi"), Il Tinca ("Il tabarro") and Borsa ("Rigoletto"). He made his Wiesbaden debut at the 2019 International May Festival in the guest production of Rossini's "La Donna del Lago" alongside Max Emanuel Cencic, conducted by George Petrou. This season, he returns to the Wiesbaden stage as Count Almaviva in the new production of "Il barbiere di Siviglia".
