The young prince Tamino falls in love with a portrait of Pamina. The Queen of the Night, Pamina's mother, commissions him to free her daughter from the clutches of her adversary Sarastro. Alongside the jolly bird catcher Papageno, and with he help of an enchanted glockenspiel and magic flute, Tamino sets off on a dangerous journey in search of his beloved.
"Die Zauberflöte" is one of Mozart's most popular and enigmatic operas. Since its Viennese premiere in December 1791, it remains one of the most frequently performed operas in the world, thrilling audiences of all ages with its unique fairytale plot and philosophical ideology.
