Coloratura soprano Aleksandra Jovanović was born in Belgrade and began her musical education at the age of nine. She commenced her vocal training with Tatjana Bajalica and studied with Aneta Ilic at the University of Belgrade. She made her debut as Queen of the Night in Mozart's "Die Zauberflöte" at the Opera & Theatre Madlenianum in Belgrade in 2013, a role which has also taken her to the Belgrade National Theatre, the Serbian National Theatre in Novi Sad, as well as the Deutsche Oper Berlin, the Vienna State Opera, the Opéra national de Paris and the Hessian State Theatre of Wiesbaden. Furthermore, since 2016 Aleksandra Jovanović has appeared regularly with the Serbian Radio Symphony Orchestra (RTS) at various New Year's Concerts, with works such as Faure's "Requiem", Haydn's "Creation", Božo Vanović's "The Lake" and Orff's "Carmina Burana". In 2014, she won first prize in the Bruna Spiler Competition, followed by third prize in the "Meistersinger von Nürnberg" Competition in 2018. In 2019, she was awarded the Emmerich Smola Prize at the "SWR Junge Operstars" Competition.
