Richard Furman

During his studies in Cincinnati and at the Western Illinois University, American tenor Richard Furman performed at Cincinnati Opera, amongst others, followed by his 2012 debut as Florestan (“Fidelio”) at Seattle Opera. He has guested in the roles of Narraboth (“Salome”), Rodolfo (“La bohème”), Cavaradossi (“Tosca”) and Bacchus (“Ariadne of Naxos”) at opera houses in Pittsburgh, Virginia, Portland and at Carnegie Hall in New York. Previous roles in Wiesbaden include Erik (“Der fliegende Holländer”), Pinkerton (“Madama Butterfly”), Dimitrij (“Boris Godunov”), Don Alvaro (“La forza del destino”), Siegmund in "Die Walküre", Mario Cavaradossi in "Tosca", Rodolfo in "La Bohème" and the Emperor in "Die Frau ohne Schatten". During the 2017/18 season, he will perform as Prince in "Rusalka" at Theater Magdeburg and Florestan in Weimar. He also returns to Wiesbaden to reprise his role as Erik in "Der fliegende Holländer" and to make his role debut as Pollione in "Norma".
