Sarah Traubel

As grandniece of the legendary Metropolitan Opera diva Helen Traubel and the German conductor Günter Wand, soprano Sarah Traubel began her stage career at the age of seventeen in her native Mannheim. She completed her vocal studies at the University of Arts in Berlin, the Salzburg Mozarteum (where she graduated with distinction) and the Manhattan School of Music in New York. Her teachers include Barbara Bonney, Francisco Araiza, Angelika Kirchschlager and Danielle Borst. Sarah Traubel has worked with leading conductors such as Daniele Gatti, Ingo Metzmacher and Adam Fischer. At the Zurich Opera House, where she was a member of the Opera Studio, her roles included Konstanze ("Die Entführung aus dem Serail") and Queen of the Night ("Die Zauberflöte"), among others. From the 2022/23 season she will be a member of the ensemble at Oper Leipzig, where she will appear in the opening premiere in the title role of Lortzing's "Undine" and as Violetta in "La traviata", among others.

Sarah Traubel made her Wiesbaden debut as Inanna in Jörg Widmann's "Bayblon" in 2021/22.
