Shavleg Armasi studied in his hometown of Tbilisi, Georgia, and in Graz. He has been an ensemble member of the Hannover State Opera since 2006, singing roles such as Osmin ("Die Entführung aus dem Serail"), Figaro ("Le nozze die Figaro"), Leporello ("Don Giovanni"), Mephisto in the “Faust” operas by Gounod and Boito, Philipp (“Don Carlos”), Gremin (“Eugene Onegin”), Padre Guardino (“La forza del destino”) and Daland ("Der fliegende Holländer"). Guest engagements have taken him to Basel, Lisbon, Hamburg, Essen, Lübeck and Innsbruck, amongst others. Previous appearances in Wiesbaden include Bartolo (“Il barbiere di Siviglia”), Boris Godunov, Hagen ("Götterdämmerung"), Fasolt ("Das Rheingold"), Sarastro ("Die Zauberflöte") and Leporello. He returns to Wiesbaden this season as Kálmán Zsupán in a new production of "Der Zigeunerbaron".
