Stephan von Wedel

At the start of his career, Stephan von Wedel assisted at various opera houses in London, Amsterdam, Salzburg, and at the Burgtheater in Vienna. Since 1999, he has designed sets and costumes at the State Opera houses in Dresden (with director Nikolaus Lehnhoff) and Berlin, in Frankfurt, Dortmund, Hannover and Bonn, at the Linz Theater, Berlin Ensemble, as well as Vienna’s Theater in der Josefstadt and Theater an der Wien. He works closely with director Ingo Kerkhof and designed the costumes for his production of “Orfeo ed Euridice” in Wiesbaden. This season, he is responsible for the costumes of the opera “Alcina”.
