Uwe Eikötter studied singing with Rolff Sartorius and Kurt Equiluz at the Vienna Academy of Performing Arts. His first full-time engagements took him to Bremerhaven and Bremen, and he appeared at guest at the Hamburg and Munich State Theatres, the Aalto-Theater Essen, as well as at the Wiesbaden and Karlsruhe State Theatres. He has been a full-time member of the Nationaltheater in Mannheim since 1999, where his repertoire includes wide-ranging roles such as Podestà ("La finta giardiniera"), Hexe ("Hänsel und Gretel"), David ("Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg"), Pedrillo ("Die Entführung aus dem Serail"), Hauptmann ("Wozzeck"), Hylas ("Les Troyens"), Laca Klemen ("Jenůfa"), Herodes ("Salome") and Mime ("Das Rheingold", "Siegfried"). He has also sung Mime ("Siegfried") in Tokyo, Budapest, Wroclaw, Cottbus and Weimar. This season, he will grace the Wiesbaden stage as J. Howard Marshall in "Anna Nicole".
