Shira Patchornik

Shira Patchornik hails from Israel. She began her vocal training in Tel Aviv and later completed further studies at the Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy College of Music and Theatre in Leipzig. She is a prize laureate of the Slovakia Cantat and the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music competitions. She made role debuts at the New Israeli Opera as Zerlina ("Don Giovanni"), Pamina ("Die Zauberflöte"), Gretel ("Hänsel und Gretel") and Flora ("The Turn of the Screw") and has performed at the Abu-Gosh Festival in Jerusalem and at the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival. During the 2017/18 season, she sang Euridice in "Au revoir, Euridice" at Oper Leipzig, followed by Tatyana ("Eugene Onegin") at the 2019 Bregenz Festival. In the same year, she appeared at Theater Heidelberg as Valencienne in "Die lustige Witwe", a role which she later also sang in Heilbronn. Previous roles in Wiesbaden include Poussette ("Manon"), Zerlina ("Don Giovanni"), Oscar ("Un ballo in maschera"), Morgana ("Alcina"), Papagena ("Die Zauberflöte für Kinder"), Servilia ("La clemenza di tito"), Lisa ("Gräfin Mariza"), as well as Micaëla and Frasquita ("Carmen").
