Figaro lässt sich scheiden

Figaro Gets a Divorce
Based on the play by Ödön von Horváth
Performed in German

What happens when the desire for social change turns people into bloodthirsty monsters? The revolution consumes its own children: Count and Countess Almaviva become outlaws, homeless, fugitives in their own country. This puts everyone's loyalty to the test, including their two servants Figaro and Susanna. Inspired by Ödön von Horváth's text, written against the background of political events in the 1930s, Alexander Olbrich's production transforms the original work into a haunting chamber play revolving around the changeability of spiritual convictions.
