Anna El-Khashem

Anna El-Khashem studied at the State Conservatory in St. Petersburg and has participated in several master classes throughout her career. She has won various prizes and awards, including 1st prize in the 2019 "Neue Stimmen" Competition, the Sergei Leiferkus Singing Competition, as well as 1st prize at the Mozart Competition at the Salzburg Mozarteum. In addition, she was honoured by the magazine "Opernwelt" as young singer of the year in 2018. Performances have taken her to the St Petersburg Philharmonie and the Great Concert Hall of the Moscow State Conservatory. She has received scholarships from the Russian Ministry of Culture and the Elena Obraztsova Foundation. She became a member of the Opera Studio at the Bayerische Staatsoper in 2016/17, where she sang roles such as Barbarina ("Le nozze di Figaro"), Taumännchen ("Hansel und Gretel") and Esmeralda ("Die verkaufte Braut"). She moved to Wiesbaden during the 2019/20 season and graced the stage in "Matthäus-Passion", as 1st Niece in "Peter Grimes", Pamina in "Die Zauberflöte" and Gretel in "Hänsel und Gretel". Her roles in 2020/21 included Susanna in "Le nozze di Figaro", as well as Woglinde in "Das Rheingold" and "Götterdämmerung". This season, she graces the Wiesbaden stage as Sophie in "Werther", amongst others.
