Instead of the planned 2nd Symphony Concert, the Hessian State Orchestra presents a slightly condensed programme without an interval. GMD Patrick Lange combines Brahms' great 2nd Symphony with works by composers like Caroline Shaw and Louise Farrenc. While Farrenc's Overture in E flat major is musically akin to Brahms, American composer Caroline Shaw, born in 1982, makes playful reference to a string quartet by Joseph Haydn in her "Entr'acte {a minuet & trio}".
