Slávka Zámečníková

One of the rising young stars of her generation, soprano Slávka Zámečníková is known for her highly-acclaimed appearances at the Berlin State Opera, Wiesbaden's International May Festival, as well as prize-winning performances at competitions such as Moniuszko, Belvedere and "Neue Stimmen". She recently made her role debut in Wiesbaden as Countess in Mozart's "Le nozze di Figaro" and celebrated her debut as a new member of the Vienna State Opera ensemble as Norina in "Don Pasquale".

Slávka Zámečníková received her training at the Bratislava Conservatory and later completed a master's degree at the Hanns Eisler Academy of Music in Berlin, studying with Anna Samuil. She has attended master classes with Anna Tomowa-Sintow, Brigitte Fassbaender, Deborah Polaski, Patricia McCaffrey, Francisco Araiza, Neil Shicoff, Thomas Quasthoff, Gregory Lamar, Luciana D'Intino, Júlia Várady and Wolfram Rieger.

During the 2017.2018 and 2018.2019 seasons, she was a scholarship holder of the Liz Mohn Culture and Music Foundation and became a member of the International Opera Studio at the Berlin State Opera. Here, she celebrated her first successes as First Lady ("Die Zauberflöte"), Miss Jessel ("Turn of the Screw"), Falcon ("Die Frau ohne Schatten"), Flora ("La Traviata") and Chasseresse ("Hyppolite et Aricie") under Sir Simon Rattle. She also sang this role under Simon Rattle during her debut at the Elbphiharmonie in Hamburg. Other important role debuts include Ilia in the new production of "Idomeneo" at the International May Festival in Wiesbaden, as well as Sophie in "Werther" at the National Theatre Prague and the Slovak National Theatre Bratislava. Her repertoire further includes roles such Pamina ("Die Zauberflöte"), Frau Fluth ("The Merry Wives of Windsor"), Woglinde ("Das Rheingold") and Ännchen ("Der Freischutz"). She made her debut at the 2018 Prague Spring Festival in Mahler's 4th Symphony with the Warsaw National Philharmonic Orchestra. Further concerts have taken her to the Rheingau Music Festival, the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Festival, the Konzerthaus Berlin and to the Galina Wischnewskaja Opera Festival in Sochi (as soprano soloist in Mozart's Requiem). In addition, she has performed in France, Italy, Russia, Monaco, Norway, Brazil, Australia, China, South Korea, Austria and the Czech Republic. This season, she returns to the Wiesbaden stage as Countess Almaviva in "Le nozze Figaro" at the International May Festival.
