Albert Pesendorfer

Bass
Austrian bass Albert Pesendorfer studied in Linz and Vienna. He has held permanent engagements in Erfurt and Hannover, and was an ensemble member at the Deutsche Oper in Berlin from 2012 to 2016, where he sang pivotal roles such as Hans Sachs ("Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg"), Heinrich ("Lohengrin"), Gurnemanz ("Parsifal"), King Marke ("Tristan und Isolde"), Ochs ("Der Rosenkavalier"), Sarastro ("Die Zauberflöte"), Banco ("Macbeth"), and Sparafucile ("Rigoletto"). Important guest engagements have taken him to the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées in Paris, the Bregenz Festival, the Bavarian State Opera in Munich, the Tokyo National Opera, as well as the Bayreuth Festival, amongst others. Over the years, Albert Pesendorfer has appeared in various roles at the Wiesbaden International May Festival. In 2021, he graced the stage once again as Hunding, Fasolt and Hagenin in Wagner's "Ring". This season, he returns to the Wiesbaden stage as King Marke in "Tristan und Isolde".
