The first symphony concert of the season focuses on early music, classicism and the incorporation of different art forms. Theatre and dance are the subject of Stravinsky's »Pulcinella« ballet suite, painting features in Respighi's »Trittico Botticelliano« and music theatre in Purcell's suite from the opera »Abdelazer«. Christina Domnick, who is no stranger to the pit, having conducted the operas »Madama Butterfly« and »Hänsel und Gretel«, now conduct her first symphony concerts with the Hessian State Orchestra.
- The concerts WIR 1, WIR 2 and WIR 3 are performed twice on the same evening, at 18:00 and 20:00. The concerts WIR 4 to WIR 8 commence at 19.30 and are performed once only.
