Khatuna Mikaberidze

Born in Georgia, Khatuna Mikaberidze completed her vocal studies at the State Conservatory in Tbilisi. After graduating, she was engaged as a soloist at the Batumi Opera and the Tbilisi Opera. She performed the role of Azucena at Dortmund Opera in 2001, after which she became an ensemble member at the Meininger Theatre, the Landestheater Linz and most recently at the Hanover State Opera. Important roles include Dorabella ("Così fan tutte"), Jezibaba ("Rusalka"), Eboli ("Don Carlo"), Carmen, Ulrica ("Un ballo in maschera"), Venus ("Tannhäuser"), Fricka ("Die Walküre"), Waltraute ("Götterdämmerung"), Herodias ("Salome"), Brangäne ("Tristan und Isolde") and Amneris ("Aida"). Khatuna Mikaberidze has made guest appearances at the Volksoper Wien, Oper Frankfurt, the Oslo Opera, Deutsche Oper am Rhein, Hamburgische Staatsoper, Oper Graz, Theater Basel and Oper Bonn, among others. She made her Wiesbaden debut in 2021/22 as Brangäne in Uwe Eric Laufenberg's production of "Tristan und Isolde". This season, she returns to Wiesbaden as Ortrud in the new production of "Lohengrin".
