A New Yorker of Korean origin, Stella An studied in South Korea and Cologne, and is a prize laureate of the Schloss Rheinsberg international singing competition. She was a member of the Cologne Opera Studo and took up a full-time engagement at Staatstheater Wiesbaden in 2014/15. Here, she has sung roles such as Gretel, Sandman and Dew Fairy ("Hänsel und Gretel"), Berta (“Il barbiere di Siviglia”), Despina ("Così fan tutte"), Xenia ("Boris Godunov"), Flora ("The Turn of the Screw"), Amor ("Orpheus und Eurydike"), Gianetta ("L'elisir d'amore"), Papagena and Pamina ("Die Zauberflöte"), Blonde ("Die Entführung aus dem Serail"), Waldvogel ("Siegfried"), Clotilde ("Norma"), Javotte ("Manon"), Jano ("Jenufa"), Frasquita ("Carmen"), Barbarina ("Le nozze di Figaro"), Sister Genoveva ("Suor Angelica"), Inez ("Il trovatore"), Tebaldo ("Don Carlo") and Messenger / Child in Jörg Widmann's "Babylon".
Current productions include "Rusalka", the world premiere of Søren Nils Eichberg's opera "Oryx and Crake", as well as Janáček's "From the House of the Dead".
