Russian soprano Julia Lezhneva studied in Moscow and London, and is considered one of the most distinguished stars in her fach. In 2011, she received the Opernwelt “Young Singer of the Year” award for her Brussels debut as Urbain in “Les Huguenots”, and also won the Echo Klassik prize in 2013. She has regularly worked with eminent conductors such as Marc Minkowski and Giovanni Antonioni, and has appeared as guest as the Salzburg Festival, Théâtre des Champs-Elysées in Paris, the Royal Opera House in London, Theater an der Wien, in Amsterdam and Versailles, mainly in Baroque and Mozart roles. She will sing Fiordiligi (“Così fan tutte”) at this year’s International May Festival.
